WEBENCH® Tools/UCC28180: 24VOUT pfc buck design at 400VIN

Part Number: UCC28180

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

We already utilize UCC28180 as a programmable PFC boost controller in our Design.

Since the Power Rail is programmed to work at 400VDC, we are looking for a down converter to regulate 400VDC to 24VDC.

UCC28180 seems to be a cost-effective solution by using it in PFC Buck topology.

Note: We would down-convert again 24VDC to various auxiliary supply voltages using iso dc/dc regulators.

But during 400VDC-24VDC we prefer to remove Power magnetics further reducing bom cost.

Please provide us any Reference Designs and Comments on the above

Regards,

Raj

  • Hello,

There are many devices that you can use in your design for 75W plus.

I do not know power level is but there are many 390V to 24V reference designs.  You can go the following link and enter your input voltage, output voltage, output current and it will give you a list of reference design that are available to help you.

If you need further help or have any questions please let us know?

    Regards,

  • Thank You and appreciate the source links you provided.

Most of the 390V Step-down converter uses power transformer, as given in TI Designs are almost not available in Online Markets.

There are always some LLC circuits getting involved during the conversion which we prefer to avoid.

So looking for a direct PFC Buck solution through  UCC28180 or any other alternates.

    Thank You.
