TPS61089: Can TPS61089 work in forced PWM mode?

Hi Team,
My customer found the Vout will drop when the device work in PFM mode with a 5us@2.1A load. But the drop not happened when the device work in PWM mode.
We want to know can TPS61089 work in forced PWM mode or when the TPS610891 will release ?

Hi Troyson,

Could you please specify the load change in the PFM PWM shift? I think it should be a big range. the minimum load is lower than 0.5A, right?

Hi Helen ,

The load is a motor which contious current is 2.1A so that load is 0A to 2.1A instantaneously.When the load is 0A the device works in PFM mode.If the device alway works in PWM mode then there will be no drop

Hi Troyson,

If you insist to use TPS61089, then you can add more caps at the output side to eliminate the voltage drop. If you don't want to add more caps at the output side, then you can consider to use TPS61088 which can be set at the FPWM mode even at the no load condition.
