TPS61165: COMP capacitor value

Dear all,

A sound sounds when I let this device work.
This sound goes down when customer add 1uF to COMP. (L=10uH)
May I add a capacitor to COMP?
Or is there the method good elsewhere?

Hi Pan,

1uF is too large to add to "COMP" pin, I would suggest trying with 220nF/330nF/470nF to check whether it helps or not. I believe it will help since the larger cap will narrow the bandwidth.

Hi Sean,

The customer added 0.47uF, but a sound yet sounds.

Hi Pan,

Please try with removing L309 first, or you can also try with 4.7uH inductor.

There was not an effect by the removal of L309.
But the sound sounded small when customer changed to 4.7uH.
An effect improved more when I change a capacitor of COMP 0.33uF.
They think about error, so use to adjust by 0.47uF.
