Hello
I have an old queston : why in allmost every BMS there are two capacitors in parallel with the MOSFETs (C18 C19 in this case of bq77915 eval board). Why should not use only one ? ( with double voltage rating eventually)

Hi Ionut,
The capacitors are for ESD to shunt high frequency current around the FETs if they are off. Similar to C16 and C17 across the PACK terminals. Two capacitors are used in series to provide tolerance to a fault on one cap. They are sometimes mounted at 90 degrees to each other so they experience different stress.
