Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM26480, TUSB320, TPS25910
Dear TI Team ,
I will apreciate if you can check if the circuit is functioning properly with the USB Type C connector standards please. I am kinda confused on how to proceed at some points .
I have attached a scheme which shows the flow chart of the Power Multiplexer flowchart & schematic section.
My aim is to configure the port of USB C in DRP mode .
In the system design , there are 3 source of input available. I have an Aux input connector which is 5V0_in , Vsys _Backup (4.4Volts) output from BQ25890 Battery Charge Management IC , 5 Volt Dc Power that can be fed from the connected USB C connector , 5V_USB.
Question 1 , is the below setup functioning?
If the Aux Power is not available in Aux connector, and USB C connector has no 5 V DC on the 5V_USB pins, The BQ25890 will start powering the VCC_P5v0 net from the mosfet IC6 IRLML6402 with 4.4 volts fed to the regülatör LM26480.
Question 2, is the below scenario working?
When a host is connected at USB C connector , we have the TUSB320 detecting CC lines , getting TUSB_ID LOW and TPS25910 drives 5 Volts with MAx 3A to the host if there is power available in the AUX connector which is 5V0_in.
At this point Do I have to also send the TUSB_ID signal from TUSB320 to the ATSAMV71Q21Processor?
If the Aux Power is not available in Aux connector, The BQ25890 will start powering the VCC_P5v0 net from the mosfet IC6 IRLML6402.
Question 3,
Should i also send power up to Connected USB Host with the 4.4 volts output from BQ25890 when there is no Aux Power available?
Question 4 ,
Are the schottky diodes U11-U12 positioned properly for the DRP mode and the power scenarios explained above?
Question 5,
D+ and D- lines from the USB C connector is directly going to the microcontroller ATSAMV71Q21 . What is that we loose when shorting D+ and D- lines on the BQ25890. İs this violating the standards of USB C?
Question6,
Which model of Schottky do you advice to use for U11 and U12?
Question 7
The processor we are using is ATSAMV71Q21 . Please have a look at the pins on the schematics that goes to from the USB C related section to the MCU below. We are a little bit confused of the usb id and otg functionality. Below in the Picture, We Show the summary of the pins related to MCU. Which ones can be removed?
Thank you very much ..
