BQ40Z80: wrong cell value on Vcell7

Part Number: BQ40Z80
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

hi,

we are usikng BQ40Z80 in a 7S1P pack.

We are driving some test with actual load, a 100ms long pulse over a 300ms period (load transient).

while Vcell1...6 are smoothy, Vcell7 looks very spiky.

As Vcell7 is calculated from VC7 and Vcellx, I dread we are catching noise on VC7 pin.

As we can't change the HW short term, we are looking some SW workaround, in particular the one mentioned in Table B / Appendix B of the Technical Reference (SLUUBT5B).

How can we change these settings? Do we need a new/specific FW?

Other options to look at are: using VBAT instead of VC7 and calculate Vcell7 in the host MCU (as VBAT should be a filtered version of VC7).

Another one is to add a small cap on VC7sns, but this requires a small HW change (we can test it if that could help).

what do you think? are there better suggestions?

thansk a lot in advance

KR
