BQ27426: external thermistor usage

Part Number: BQ27426

Hello Support team,

My customer is designing bq27426 with external thermistor.

Does BIn pin need pulled up to VDD through 10kohm? Or does bq27425 have internal bias source for thermistor, no pull up resister required?

And what is Bin pin recommended input range?

Thanks,

Koji Ikeda

  • Hello Koji,

Most of the information you're looking for is in the data sheet: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/bq27426.pdf?ts=1591290610409

    BIN voltage range:

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller

  • Hello Wyatt-san,

They already red datasheet, but, to clarify, they inquired. Could you support the question?

You showed datasheet description, but, this is not clear information, is this for with thermistor or without thermistor? BIN pin could be used as battery detection without thermistor. And I can’t find what function BI_PU_EN is. Could you explain this?

And this is not recommend range for measurement, but the ABSmax. Could you support recommended measurement range for external thermistor?

    Thanks,

    Koji Ikeda
