Theoretically BQ24610 is a charge controller, so it can support higher charge currents. However the internal gate drive strength is limited. If using high current applications, higher Id rated FETs are required, which usually have higher Qg. This would cause increased gate driver loss. Also as conduction loss is much higher, extremely careful layout is required for thermal dissipation. It is not recommended to use BQ24610 above the 10A max charge current rating.
Yes, changing RAC to 5mohm would increase the input current limit (assuming 2V sourced on ACSET pin) to 20A.
