About difference of LED linear driver, backlight driver, and Indicator

I could find that the current of backlight driver is 100mA to 150mA, and Indicator driver is under 70mA.

I know that backlight driver is usually used on the cluster application in automotive, can Indication be used also on the cluster?

Where application the indication driver is used?

    The indication was usually used to indicate some status which usually doesn't need high current.

    For cluster, it usually needs a backlight driver and for telltale, we usually recommend a larger current solution, TPS61500 would be a good choice.

Can I ask what the dimming ratio meaning exactly?

For example, if a device has 32000:1, is this meaning that the Duty cycle can be set 1/32000 %?

Hi Gary,

    For this kind of basic spec meaning, I would suggest you read some basic material and for the dimming ratio, the definition is Imax/Imin. Not meaning the minimum PWM duty cycle.
