BQ27542-G1: Battery Age check point.

Part Number: BQ27542-G1

Dear Sir,

My customer use BQ27542-G1 for Mobile POS.

They are using FCC value for SOH.

But there are some problem SOH Value using FCC value.

When FCC value is 2807 and SOH is 100% as 1st capture.

When FCC value is 2810 and SOH is 99% as 2nd capture.

both case is not correct SOH value.

my questions for below.

1. SOH value is Battery Age or not?

2. SOH value is depend on FCC value? or there are another point?

3. hot to measure correctly Battery Age?

  • Hello Dexter,

The State of Health gives your batteries age as a percentage, or basically the percent of the design capacity you can achieve over time.

From the snippet you shared: 6.1.1.6 of the TRM, the FCC value used in the SOH calculation is based on a set load and temperature to prevent SOH from jumping during discharge cycles. the FCC in the SOH calculation is not necessarily the one in the registers you're looking at.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
