UCC24612: negative spike on VD and VG pin of UCC24612-1

Part Number: UCC24612

Hi Team,

During test, we use short ground line to test the voltage and find there is negative spike on VD and VG pins,  -3V/<10ns.

Since datasheet only have -0.3V spec, please kindly check if it's OK and if there is transient spec.

Thanks.

  • Hello,

The voltage spike seems high to be at 3V.  The FET body diode should clamp this voltage from ever getting to -3V.

I would suggest retaking this measurement tip an barrel with the scope probe wire rapped around a ferrite toroid to make a common mode filter.

The maximum rating on the VD pin should be -0.7V minimum and not -0.3V.

If this failure ends up being real you can prevent with Schottky diodes.  One across the SR's body diode and the other and to VS and cathode to VG.

    Regards,
