Hello experts,

Do you have typical circuit example and operating flow chart which include threshold voltage value except datasheet?

My customer plan to use BQ24115 for NiMH battery, so they need more information about this.

I would appreciate if you would give me comment.

Dear Ryo,

What threshold voltage are you referring to? The pre-charge to fast-charge transition is controlled by the CMODE pin. We do have an application note using an automotive qualified part of the same family, "Charging NiMH Battery Using bq24105-Q1 in Automotive Applications." Please note the example uses the bq24105-Q1 which does not have the CMODE pin.

Customer plan to use 2 series battery, it may be 2.4V (1.2V x 2)

Also, thank you for introducing app note.

You mean BQ24105 can change pre-charge mode to fast-charge mode automatically?

From datasheet P8, there is "VLOWV : Precharge to fast-charge transition voltage threshold" for BQ24105.

The precharge to fast-charge transition is indeed entered when the BAT voltage reaches 71.4% of the regulation voltage.

Customer plan to control via MCU, and want information about software if there is.
