WEBENCH® Tools/LM5122: Problems encountered in hardware debugging

Part Number: LM5122

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

Encountered some problems in LM5122 application, please ask for guidance.

Is LM5122 suitable for BOOST solution with 50V input and 57V/50A output?

I used LM5122 as the controller and selected a 100V MOS tube to make a two-phase BOOST. The output voltage can't get up without connecting the load. During the debugging process, both the MOS and the LM5122 chip have been damaged, and they still have not played a role in boosting. The switch is in an intermittent working state. The peak current is set at 50A per phase.

The circuits are basically designed according to the specifications. Is it because the peak current is too high?

Is the component selection inappropriate?

Please help me with some suggestions or guidance.

Best regards!

Jojo

  • Hi Jojo,

Thanks for reaching out with your questions and for considering the LM5122 in your design.

Can you please post the schematic? This will help me check the component selection.

For the two phase design the total output current is 100A, correct? This is what you intended when you said 50A per phase right?

    Thanks,

    Garrett

  • Hi Garrett,

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

The LM5122 chip is in current peak control mode, and the current peak is set at 50A per phase.

Can you tell me your mailbox. I will send you the schematic diagram privately. Could you please check it for me?

    Best regards!

    Jojo
