BQ25713ENV-017 THE QUESTION IS RELATED TO IDCHG

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25713EVM-017, BQ25713, BQ40Z50

Hello

i am using BQ25713EVM-017 Module to charge 10 S 1300mAh 12V Battery

and i changed Disable Low Power Mode for ADC

MAX CHARGE VOLTAGE : 12592 mA
MIN SYSTEM VOLTAGE : 9984mA

it is my module config

the problem is that ADC IDCHG is always 0 mA even thought only Battery without DC

and i have question one more ..

when ADC VBAT / ASYS is above Max Charge Voltage , Does ADC ICHG Value become 0 mA ??

i mean , i connected DC to charge battery , and Charge Current Register also was 320mA , Watchdog Timer was disable

and when i check ADC ICHG Value , it was 0 mA

how can i know that battery is full ??

thank you

  • First, we need to enable ADC to read back the IDCHG current. Set the ADC Option register 3AH.

Although ADCIBAT register (29/28H) provides charge current and discharge current readback. the LSB is 64mA . At 64mA charge current, the voltage on the 10-mohm sense resistor is 0.64mV, this is a very low measurement voltage in a noisy environment.

For high accuracy/resolution, I would suggest pairing the battery charge controller BQ25713 with a battery gauge such as BQ40Z50.
