LM5161: Low side current limit operation and max sinking current limit value

Hi team,

In the datasheet of 7.3.7 Current Limit, current limit operation is described but is it apply to low-side current limit as well ?

Or is it only for high-side current limit ?

If 7.3.7 is for only high-side current limit operation, could you kindly advise the low side current limit operation ?

Sinking current limit is defined typ 3A in the datasheet.

Customer see sinking current of max 4.7A in their application.

Could share the number of max sinking current limit ?

Hi,

1. It's for high-side current limit but low-side sourcing current will also not exceed it. There is a low side sinking current limit, if sinking current exceeds it, low side switch will be off.

2. Do you have waveforms of this current along with Vin/Vout/SW? Thanks.

Please let me confirm again.

The off time of low-side switch is applied to equation 5 in the datasheet ?

And if sinking current is beyond around 3A, low side switch will be turned off ?
