TPS61022: higher current drive boost

Hello, 

I have a customer asking the following question:

"I tested the TPS61022 and I am getting a power drop when I have a 1.5A current spike with Vin<2.65V and Vout=5.1V.

Do you have a different boost with higher current drive capabilities?

It needs to work:

Vin 2V

Vout 5-5.2

Iout 1.5-2A for 10mSec with drop no more than 0.5V"

Do we have such a device to offer?

    Hi Victor,

    Want to confirm with you, customer hopes to load transient Vout drop less than 0.5V from 0A to 1.5-2A with input voltage 2V, output votlage 5-5.2V. Correct?

    What's the voltage drop did they see? The load transient voltage drop could be optimized by adding a feedforward capacitor to increase the cross over frequency.

    Hi Victor,

    Please set TPS61022 working at FPWM mode for better load transient performance.

    To reduce the voltage drop, add a 47pF feedforward capacitor and 2kohm resistor in parallel with upper feedback resistor like below picture. Add another one 22uF ceramic capacitor at output.

    The simulation result shows the voltage drop is less than 0.5V.
