Hello
I designed DC/DC Converter using TPS40055
But Sometimes Not Start up when Power on.
Condition:
VIN : 20V
VOUT : 12V
CH1 : SW
CH2 : IOUT
CH4 : VOUT
Connect the 2A LOAD
No Load
what reason the not start up?
best regards.

Hello Louis,
Could you increase value of Rlim to ensure device is not hitting current limit?
What is capacitance value of C18?
Hi Marshall
C18 value is 100nF.
Best regards.
Hello Louis,
I understand. I was asking to increase OCP function for debugging purproses.
One reason for devices failure to start is often because of heavy capacitive load.
If device hits current limit at startup, it will fail to start up.
Are you starting up into heavy load? (what ohms? what current?) If you are, can you please disconnect for debugging purposes.
What is the amount of capacitance on the output...hard to tell for me on supplied schematic?
Thank you
Hi Marshall
It works when I increase the function of OCP.
Even if there is no load like the above waveform, it does not work.
ouput capacitor is 220uF.
Is there only a way to increase OCP for startup?
Best regards
Hello Louis,
No need to adjust OCP during start up. All you should need to do is adjust soft start time..
Current limit and soft start time are correlated. For desired current limit, soft start time can be found by eq 7, in section 7.3.6 of D/S
