Hello
I am using BQ20Z655 as a Removable battery Mode.
How do I do for operate FET when the battery pack is Reinsert?
I attached Design File.
Best Regards.

Hello Louis,
You will need to make sure your gauge is configured correctly so that it is in a condition to turn the FETs on when a charge or discharge is needed.
Were you able to test your system with the EVM and your gauge configuration to see it's operation is correct?
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Hi Wyatt
I answer the your feedback.
You will need to make sure your gauge is configured correctly so that it is in a condition to turn the FETs on when a charge or discharge is needed.
You asked us to make sure our gauge should be configured correctly.
Unfortunately, now we are use the device BQ20Z655 first for this time. So we don’t know well which configuration of the gauge you mean.
If the gauge configuration you said is the hardware schematic, we already referred the reference schematic the TI gave.
As you can see the schematic you delivered, our schematic is quite similar to the reference one.
Could you review our schematic if you find something wrong in it?
Or if the gauge configuration you said means software part, could you explain more detail about that?
Now we don’t change and use as a default setting for soft register setting.
Were you able to test your system with the EVM and your gauge configuration to see it's operation is correct?
Now we don’t have the EVM and just designed the schematic following the reference schematic in the datasheet.
We couldn’t buy the EVM because the delivery to late over 20 weeks. So, the buying EVM and trying first with EVM does not meet our development schedule.
Best Regards.
Hello Louis,
Check and make sure the PRES pin is giving the correct signal, should be 1 when battery is there and 0 when battery is out. It seems like there is an issue with the recovery process.
Can you also provide the .GG file for the gauges configuration?
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Hi Wyatt
It is not tested by GUI, but by the customer's board.
Because of this, the .GG file can't be provided.
we are purchasing EV2400 for testing with GG file.
Additional Question.
1.We searched more information regarding BQ20Z655 through the Support Forums that you given the website link as below.
And we found information as below :
When we read the 0x54 operating status, the value was 0x8044 and FAS was 0. Does it mean the Full Access Mode, right?
2. During checking the datasheet, we found that the writing IT Enable(0x0021) operation forces to operate the Algorithm.
I wonder whether it is right way to write IT Enable to activate the BMU.
3. Now we are trying to write QMAX, but failed.
Could you let me know in detail how to write a value to EEPROM?
Best regards.
See my comments below

[Andy] Yes.

[Andy] Yes.

[Andy] I would suggest you use bqEVSW and you can change the QMax in the Data Flash.
Hi Wyatt
I attached the .GG File.
Battery Pack Spec:
LG : LGDBHG21865
Nominal Capacity: 3000mAh
Continuous Discharge Rating: 20A
Nominal Voltage: 3.6v
4 Series and 2 Parallel
Could you Provide the ,SENC File for LGDBHG21865?
Best Regards.
Hello Louis,
Were the other problems with your system resolved from Andy's comments? I am working to get the .SENC file for you.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Hello Louis,
You will need to set the configuration of the .gg file for your application and batteries. You can follow the EVM users guide to see how to change the values: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluu697/sluu697.pdf?ts=1593182577037&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fproduct%252FBQ20Z655
What was the recommended chemID for your battery using the GPCCHEM tool?
