BQ25606: Using DCP current limitation for unknown adapter

USB will not be used in the project, but the input current limitation may be 2.4A.
Is there a problem with shorting D + and D- to use the current limitation of 2.4A for an Unknown Adapter, instead of leaving the pins floating and using the ILIM pin?
