EV2400: Remove I2C Pull-up Resistors

Part Number: EV2400

Hello,

I would like to remove the I2C pull-up resistors on the EV2400 as my board has them incorporated.

On my board I pull the I2C lines up to a single cell Li-Ion battery (3.0 - 4.2 V).

Is this as simple as removing R13/R14 from the EV2400?  It's not evident what the value of VPUV.2 is as it is controlled by a digital potentiometer and I do not want to exceed the pin ratings of the EV2400's I2C level shifter (U5).

Thanks,

Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

I would suggest you have a try without removing these pull-up resistors.    I believe EV2400 should still work.

If you really want to remove these pull-up resistors, I think it would be also necessary to apply the voltage (3.0 - 4.2 V) to the VCC pin of U5.
