BQ34Z950: Charge reverse polarity protection

Dear TI,

Is BQ34Z950 have reverse polarity protection at the output side? For example if the user want manually charge the battery using power supply but mistakenly reverse it polarity, do the BQ34Z950 have any protection for this condition?

If have, which block or circuit perform this reverse polarity protection function?

Hi Fariz,

The Q5 on the reference schematic in the data is provided to protect the discharge FET (Q4) in the event of a reverse-connected charger.

Hi Andy,

Thank you for your feedback. From my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) when reverse polarity happen, Q5 will be turn ON and this will cause Q4 to turn OFF. Am I correct?
