BQ24650EVM-639: How to adjust the resistor divider

Hi Team,

I want to charge batteries with various rated voltages with this charger.

To do this, the manual says to adjust the resistor divider, but I don't know how.

This device is too new to me.

I would be grateful if you could explain the resistor divider adjustment procedure in detail.

Hi Jaeyoung,

Refer to section 8.3.1 Battery Voltage Regulation from the datasheet. It gives the equation for how to set the max charge regulation voltage. On the EVM,adjust R13 and R15 accordingly, such that R13 is equivalent to R2 in the equation, and R15 is equivalent to R1 in the equation.

I know the equation you mentioned.

But I asked this question because I didn't know how to adjust R1 and R2.

Would you tell me how to adjust the resistance of R1 and R2?

Hi Jaeyoung,

You will have to desolder the resistors from the EVM and resolder the resistors calculated from above equation.
