About dcdc buck converter general question

Hi all,

I have dcdc buck converter general quesiton.

1. I could find that current mode buck converter has OTA (gm amp) for the error amp. Why only current mode topology uses OTA for the error amp?

2. I read the slope compensation apps notes, but I was hard to understand for me. Can you explain what is the slope compensation, and why it needs on the current mode?

Thank you
