UCC21520-Q1: About DIS High and DIS Low Response Time

Part Number: UCC21520-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21520A, UCC21520

Hi,

Could you tell me the time for DIS High Response Time and DIS Low Response Time?
Customers need that maximum and minimum time to design.
If it is difficult to specify the time, please tell me the reason and how to calculate.

Best regards,
Yusuke

  • Hi, Yusuke-san,

This is discussed in section 8.4.1 of the data sheet:

Disable Pin Setting the DISABLE pin high shuts down both outputs simultaneously. Grounding (or left open) the DISABLE pin allows the UCC21520 and the UCC21520A to operate normally. The DISABLE response time is in the range of 20ns and quite responsive , which is as fast as propagation delay. The DISABLE pin is only functional (and necessary) when VCCI stays above the UVLO threshold. It is recommended to tie this pin to ground if the DISABLE pin is not used to achieve better noise immunity, and it is recommended to bypass using a ≈1nF low ESR/ESL capacitor close to DIS pin when connecting DIS pin to a micro controller with distance.

We do not specify a min or max time for this timing.
