Asking for the TPS566335 design suggestion

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS566335

Hi Sir,

My customer would like design TPS566335

Would you please review and provide your comment for quesitons?

1. Is C10= Cff the same as a feedforward capacitor?  Could customer merge R2 and R3 and connect C10 between L1 and VFB?

2. Could you recommend a 18V to 5V BOM connection?

From Table 3 L=2.2uH Cout =22uF*2, Is Cff must be added on 5V output?

BR,

SHH

  • Hi SHH,

1, Yes, C10 is CFF feed forward resistor, R2 can be removed, it is only use for loop measurement, actually if follow the recommendation table for the design, it should be safe.

2, Output cap is 3pcs, and cff for 5Voutput is not a must, but if customer would like to get good transient performance, that is needed, cff can help to improve bandwidth which will be helpful for transient performance. so i suggest to reserve a location for cff first and based on the transient performance result to determine to stuff it or not.
