UCC28070: About relevance of VAO and CSA/B circuit

Guru 21045 points

Hi Team,

I understand that CSA and CSB circuit and VAO don’t connect in device.

However, VAO depends on load current and CSA/B resistor values.

-If load current increases, VAO voltage is increase.

-The voltage change of VAO varies according to CSA and CSB resistor values.

Could you please let us know the relevance of VAO and CSA/B circuit?

Regards,

  • Hi

VAO is an input to the multiplier and it sets the power demand for the PFC stage. The Multiplier output sets the demand level for the current control loop which uses the output of the current synthesizer circuit. The input to the current synthesizer circuit is the measured the current on CSA and CSB. The circuit is shown in the block diagram on page 13 of the datasheet.

The output of the current amplifier(s) is compared against a ramp signal to generate the correct PWM gate drive pattern to produce a sinusoidal input current.
