LMG34XX-BB-EVM: LMG34XX-BB-EVM AGND & PGND

Part Number: LMG34XX-BB-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMG3410EVM-018

Hi,

I am currently working on LMG34XX-BB-EVM and LMG3410EVM-018 for a DC DC converter application. As i see from the schematic AGND and PGND is connected via R9.

Is it possible to remove R9 between AGND and PGND on LMG34XX-BB-EVM to provide isolation between analog domain and power domain? Is it going to affect the performans of the board?

Thank you

Murat

  • Hello Murat,

When you are using LMG3410EVM-018, the R9 on the motherboard could be removed since the FAULT and IN pins are isolated on the daughter card. The board performance should not be affected in this situation.

However, for other cases such as using our R150 daughter card, where the low side is not isolated, then the R9 will be providing the connection between the AGND and PGND so the ground potential between the two will be small.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

  • Hello Yichi,

    Thank you for the information.
