BQ27Z561: Average current - definition and usage

Hi,

My customer wish to measure average current for a short period (lets say10sec), and is assumed having his own calibrated system at hand.

Please explain

1) How are average current for charging and discharging defined mathematically, so that we understand how the values are built?

2) How can he re-start averaging, to control the time window that he wants for measuring an average current correctly?

3) What accuracy can be expected (of the measured average current) after calibration, compared to the real current?

Hello,

These questions are best answered with an EVM and testing it in system.

It really depends on value of sense resistor, amount of current.

There is a Current and AvgCurrent register. We do not share the actual equation to convert Current to AvgCurrent.

- Can you at least tell us how to reset the AvgCurrent measurement, so that it starts fresh?
