TPS92511: DIM pin internal pull-up current capability

Part Number: TPS92511

hi,

in section "7.3.10 PWM Dimming Control" it is mentioned a typ. 40-90uA current related to the internal pull-up on DIM pin.

What is min/max spread? We want to add a pull-down to keep device off while MCU boots, but can't say if a 10x factor is too conservative while a 2x is too risky.

thansk a lot in advance

have a great day

KR

  • Hello Vincenzo,

I would use +/- 50%, 2X would be safe, at 90 uA, double that and be under 0.44V gives an R value of 2.4 Kohm.  You can go lower and the dissipation will not really change since the TPS92511 DIM is a current source.  It will be limited by the current source so zero ohms is fine also.

    Best Regards,

    Irwin
