We're using the BQ24297 and have an issue where high power charger can be mis-detected, especially if the charger is plugged in slowly or at an angle. We tried a "force input current limit detection" but VBUS_STAT reports an "Unknown or DPDM detection incomplete" and REG00 remains at 500mA
2 amp charger mis detected | After force redetect finish | For reference 2 amp charger detected correctly |
reg 00 value 32 < Input Current Limit = 500mA reg 08 value 6c < 0110 1100, VBUS_STAT= USB host |
reg 00 value 32 reg 08 value 2c < 0010 1100, VBUS_STAT= No input or DPDM detection incomplete |
reg 00 value 36 < 0011 0110, Input Current Limit = 2A reg 08 value 6c < 0110 1100, VBUS_STAT= USB host, I think this should be 'adapter port' |
- Why is the 'force input current limit detection' failing?
- Is it safe to set a higher charge limit if connected to a lower power charger (500mA)
