TPS55340: TPS55340, BOOST, SLOPE COMPENSATION, Frequency response, model

Part Number: TPS55340
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5155

hello Officer,

I am just writing to ask one question from the TPS55340 Datasheet.

on page 11, section 7.3.6 slope compensation (Below).

I am trying to construct transfer function for a boost converter.

May I know where I should plug the transfer function He(s) in? What is the input and output of this transfer function?

Is there any application notes on this?

I have also attached a block diagram below. Can I think of the box 'PWM Control' as a comparator and He(s) acts as a transfer function between V-Rsense and inverting input of the 'PWM Control (if it is thought of a comparator'?

thanks in advance for your help.

BR,

Jim.

  • Hi Jim,

Thanks for your interest in TPS55340.

The He(s) there is already written in the double pole form. So it can be directly add to the comp to vout small signal transfer function, or the control loop transfer function (the compensation keeps the same).

You can refer to the application note SNVA824, How to Design a Boost Converter Using LM5155. LM5155 is a boost controller but also uses current loop.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
    Yinsong
