TPS2546: Can't charge IPAD AIR 3

hi,

The ctr1=ctr2=ctr3=ilim_sel="1", TPS2546 is set in CDP mode.If IPAD AIR 3 is connected, there is no charging current following into IPAD AIR 3. The attache is the DM & DP voltage waveforms when IPAD is connected. would you like kindly help check if there are any errors ? Can you double check if TPS2546 with CDP mode can support IPAD AIR 3?TPS2546-SCH.pdf DP-DM with ipad air 3.xlsx

Hello Ken,

Some devices require a host connection present in order to charge in CDP mode. Meaning, if the DP/DM signals do not connect to a host controller that is capable of driving data to the downstream device, then the connected device may not charge properly. If the DP/DM lines do not go to a host controller and stop at the TPS2546 and the system is not capable of providing data, I would recommend using a charging scheme like DCP_Auto
