No response from BQ2060A for HDQ16 requests

I have implemented HDQ16 protocol for communication with BQ2060A. Below are the timing information:

TSTRH = 30us.

TDH = 88us

TSSU = 110

I am not seeing any response from the BQ2060A. We have 12K pull-up resistor for the HDQ bus. The scope shows the waveform from the host but response from BQ.

How do I find out whether the problem is with my HDQ protocol implementation or with BQ IC or with anything else?

Hi Keshav,

The minimum data hold time for the BQ2060A is 100 us. Can you increase your TDH and let me know if the gauge responds?

Hi Antonio,

Thanks for the advice!. Actually I had tried various values for start, data hold and stop bit duration. Nothing worked. Then I analysed the waveform of BQ2060A EV and started using those values. finally I discovered that the problem is with break. Earlier I used to send the break command at the start-up. Then I tested with sending it each time before reading BQ values. It worked! I can see response from BQ2060.
