Is there such PMIC where dual input and dual output and each output can select from the input?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS650861

Hello

I got overwhelemed by the sheer number of category that TI have on PMIC, it would take me some time to inspect each IC and what im looking for might not exist.

What im looking for is a PMIC where it has two power inputs  and at the same time two channel output. Each output channel should be able to set to either of the power inputs. A Power Mux IC might be the closest one but, i do not actually want it to switch over. So for example if output A is set to input A and input A got disconnected it would not switch to input B.

Right now the specs are a bit flexible, but my target would be a max 24v input at atleast 2A

Any recommendation for PMIC or a PMIC configuration ?

Thank you very much.

  • Hi Drake,

I just wanted to clarify exactly what you needed in the device. Do you need the device to have the same input voltage as output voltage?

Considering that you need power switching, products like the TPS650861 Etna have power switching as opposed strictly buck convertors.

  • Hi Garret

Yes the voltage that goes in is what should be at the output also.

Unfortunately the one you recommended is not the one im looking for. I actually do not need the voltage to be regulated.

I have created a kind of truth table to hopefully help better understand what im looking for

    SELECT A         SELECT B         OUTPUT A        OUTPUT B

    0                          1                         Vinput1              Vinput2

    0                          0                         Vinput1              Vinput1

    1                          1                         Vinput2              Vinput2

    1                          0                         Vinput2              Vinput1

Where Select(0) = output the voltage at input 1 and Select(1) = output the voltage at input 2

I had a look at power multiplexer (as i thought it would be the closest) and just use two of them, but the highest voltage rating one is 22 volts a tad 2 volt short.
