LM3630A: LED2 open during operation

Hello,

Our customer asked if LM3630A can drive LED1 while LED2 is opened while both LEDs are tuned on.

I have checked the datasheet and my understanding in this case is LED1 still sink LED current defined by registers. But if the boost converter reached to OVP condition, boost converter stop switching until boost output voltage is down less than VOVP - 1V aand LED open state.

However I do not know if LED1 can sink programmed current during LED2 open state.

Hi Imi,

Yes, your understanding is right, when it triggers the OVP threshold it will stop switching and doesn't switch again until recovery.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply but our customer needs to know if LED1 can sink programmed current if LED2 is opened while LED1 and LED2 sink the current.

Hi Imi,

Yes, boost will switch to trigger OVP and stop switching.

Let me confirm again. LED1 in this case stop sinking the current when the boost converter reaches to OVP?

How about if Boost converter does NOT reach to OVP when LED2 is opened during normal operation. Do I understand LED1 sink the programmed current continuously ?
