TPS62840: STOP Mode timing

Do we have data on the time it take the regulator to stop switching once the device is disabled?

We have a regulator startup delay time in the datasheet?  What about when disable or STOP is asserted?

    By the way, how critical is the delay between STOP pin goes High and the device stop switching in customer application? And what is an acceptable delay?

  • Hi Gregory,

    When the device is switching and the STOP pin goes High, the low-side FET turns ON and it will be ON until the inductor current goes to zero (demagnetize the inductor) then it will stop switching. The max delay from STOP pin goes High until the device stop switching can be calculated using the formula below.

    In case the device is at Pause state, then there will be no switching anymore.

    Delay = (Lout_max / VOUT_min) x IL_max
