TPS61021A: TPS61021A

Part Number: TPS61021A

Using this part in a battery powered application.

Does this part provide reverse wiring protection (battery installed backwards) ?  Or would a diode (as a example) still be required on the output to prevent the circuits/IC's from potentially being damaged?

When EN is disabled, the part enters shutdown mode.  Is Vin just pathed thru to Vout in this case?

  • Hi Mike,

Thank you for using the TPS61021A.  You need an external diode to protect against reverse batter polarity mistake.

This IC has a true shutdown feature, namely when it is in shutdown by pulling EN low, there input is disconnected from the output.

    Thanks,
