TPS65400: TPS65400 was shutted down when ESD test was executed to a camera system which uses the device.

Hello guys,

One of my customers are going to release a camera system which uses TPS65400 for the system power supply soon.

But the system was failed at ESD test with -5kV for the system. Then TPS65400 was shutted down and VDDD and VDDA output voltage became zero.

However the TPS65400 starts to operate normally when it is powered up again. I think TPS65400 VDDD and VDDA can't be shutted down

as long as appropriate voltage is supplied to VIN terminal.

Is there any way to shut VDDD and VDDA down?

Also the customer inserted 10ohm+0.01uF RC filter between VIN and power source. But TPS65400 was shutted down at same ESD level.

Do you know how to improve ESD immunity level?

1. Pulling CE pin to low can shut down the VDDD and VDDA voltage.

2. The below circuit might improve the ESD level.

TVS could clamp the positive ESD voltage.

1N4007 could prevent the reverse current.
