UCD9248: Two ucd9248 controlls use the same PMBus, firmware combined in one tifsp file

Part Number: UCD9248

My PCB contains 2 ucd9248 controlls use the same PMBus. I make one tifsp file that containing the firmaware for the 2 controllers. After downloading (by import system file) , I found one controller (ID 52)works correctly with all its 4 rails, the the other  (ID 53) shows under voltage fault on its first rail, and all of the rest rails does not works. Is it because I should not combine the 2 firmwares in one tifsp file? I can not tell the reason. Thank you for help. hardware and firmware.zip

  • Hi Maverick,

Can you check if the second part (ID 53) is programmed by system file correctly?

Can you also try programming part one by one by using .xml file?

    Thanks

    Qian

  • I plan to try make a new tifsp file containing only the firmware for the controller ID 53. I do not have much knowledge on xml file.

Each time I import a tifsp file, the message shows I am not succeed for both controllers. But then I open fusion in online mode. I can verify the firmware is downloaded, otherwise the rail information shouldn’t be correct. I also verify one controller works correctly. The same thing also happens in my another PCB design where I use only one controller. Although the message shows tisfp file download error occur, actually firmware is downloaded and the controller works as expected. My fusion is updated at 2019. 12.

  • HI Maverick,

Under UCD9248 GUI->File->Save project as menu, you can save the configuration as .xml file.

Then import .xml file to a new part.

Not like system file (.tifsp), xml file can only save one part configuration.

    Thanks
