BQ51050B: C-clamp value

Part Number: BQ51050B

Hello there,

We are using a BQ51050B in one of our designs, and have specified 470nf capacitors for Cclamp1 and Cclamp2.

Upon inspection of incoming parts from our supplier, it seems that we may have been supplied with 330nf instead.

Would it be possible to have some information in what change we would expect to see if this value was used please?

Thanks very much,

Tom

  • Hello Tom

Cclamp1 and Cclamp2 will be active when voltage at RECT is greater than 15V, over voltage condition.  The capacitor value will reduce the system gain and shift resonant point lower.  A lover value, 330nF vs 470nF is less effective but may be good enough.

What RX coil are you using?

Do you have a schematic that I can review?
