BQ34110: Design including BQ7791501 and BQ34110. Is it a good combination of protection and fuel gauging?

Part Number: BQ34110

Hello,

I am working on a new design and I selected BQ7791501 and BQ34110 parts for their characteristics. Now that I'm doing the initial schematic design and calculations I have one main question. How do I integrate both ICs in terms of the sense resistor. Should I bee sharing the same sense resistor for both ICs (not a good idea for accurate voltage readings)

Thanks

  • Hello Danial,

I think there may have been a problem with any pictures you uploaded.

For the sense resistor you should be able to share the same one, I'm not familiar with the BQ7791501, but if they are both low side sense and have similar ADC inputs for the pins it should be okay. You can also try testing it with the EVMs if you are unsure.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
