BQ40Z80: Battery Cells questions

Part Number: BQ40Z80
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM

Team,

I was hoping to use the BQ40Z80 for a 7S battery pack and I was wondering how many cells I can put in parallel at each level?  It’s going to be a really big pack.

Also, do you have a list of the battery cells you support with the BQ40Z80 (without having to use the software)?

Thank you.

  • Hello,

I believe the best way to look through the supported batteries is the software, after collecting the log file of the battery usually a good ID match can be found with the GPCCHEM tool.

I would reference the Datasheet and TRM for the maximum capacity, I believe it is 29000mAh. You can do current scaling if it exceeds these values which might require some host processing to calculate the true values.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
