BQ25601: Can BQ25601 change the charge current when the PSEL is in high level

Part Number: BQ25601

Hi Team ,

The PSEL is always in high level in my customer circuit which causes the input current limit is only 500mA . Customer has try to write 1 to WD_RST bit to quit default mode and change the Input current limit to 2A via I2C. But the input current limit is still 500mA. Can BQ25601 change the charge current  to 2A when the PSEL is in high level ? Thank you!

  • Hi Troyson,

PSEL sets default input current limit. Once host communication is established (on powerup) then the host can overwrite the input current limit set by PSEL using the IINDPM registers. Host can over-write IINDPM register bits after input source detection is completed.

PSEL limit is present after powerup and before I2C communication has configured the registers.
