hello there,

I hope you are doing well and in safe zone also.

I required to design a Power Board Which has the below requirements. Could you please state some better options for that?

Input (One Input Only, from DC Jack):- 5-24v ,3.5A

Output(Two outputs needed):- 5v and 12v, both should be capable of 3A... (i know that both can not be provided around 3A same time due to input current limit of 3.5A...but they should be capable of 3A (ex if i just needed 5V ONLY then it will provide me maximum rating around 3A ).

Please suggest a hint if above type of solution available, if not then i guess i required to use the two TPS series IC with common input.

Hi Bhautik,

do you need 5V and 12V output at the same time? or the output changes between 5V and 12V

Hello Jasper, Thanks for your message. Can you hint on the both the solution? At the same time and one at a time as well? As it will help us to select and trade off in pricing as well? Thanks

Hi Bhautik,

as the input voltage could be higher or lower than output voltage. you would need a buck-boost converter such as TPS55288 to generate the 12V. and a buck converter from 12V to 5V. You can find a buck converter using webench.
