Why the Start/Stop Sequence on Transmission Bursts from the EV2300?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2060

I see that transmission bursts from the EV2300 always begin with Start and Stop bits, before commencing with a data packet (which of course has its own Start Bit).

Is there a reason for this? Is there some danger in *me* doing this on my host driver, as a means of flushing a comm buffer in the bq2060_E207 / _619?

This might be useful in accessing a pack that was pulled from service in the middle of some bus communication.

Thanks,
