TPS65131: TPS65131 temp simulation data (junction temp / case temp) per two cases.

Hi BU expert,

my customer (LG display in Korea) is considering to use TPS65131 same in new project.

Before that, They need to simulate temperature of LCD panel based on IC’s temperature data.

Would you help me to get answer on temp simulation data of per below condition ?

if simulation is not possible, Calculated temperature(Tj / TC) is OK.

Condition is below. MP schedule is 1Q next year. IC’s usage is to provide positive/negative to source driver and gamma in Panel.

Case 1) VCC 3.3V, VDDP 6.0V(Out current 50mA), VDDN -6.0V(Out current 50mA)

Case 2) VCC 3.3V, VDDP 6.0V(Out current 320mA), VDDN -6.0V(Out current 320mA)

Hello Jung-Ho:

Tj/Tc is dependent on board and system design itself (how well thermal pad is connected to copper planes, how large copper planes are, if there is any circulating air in the system etc.). I can provide you an idea of measured temperature on the TPS65131EVM board under customer's conditions and that should be a good starting point for customer. Please allow me couple of days to make this measurement and get back to you.

Hi JH,

I measured following temperatures directly on case top of TPS65131 device.

Customer case 1: 32.1C

Customer Case 2: 58.4C

I hope this provides some idea for customer system use.
