If they send command 0x0606 they should be able to program the EEPROM with the I2C bus.

Are they not able to write to the EEPROM? What is the procedure/commands are they performing and the issue they are running into?

Hi Wyatt,

When the 0x0606 command is sent I do not see any change from the system.

I would expect as per the documentation to see the eeprom exposed on the I2C bus.

The eeprom IC is 24LC01B and uses address 0xA0.

When I directly connect to the eeprom IC I can communicate with it, but I need to be able to write values via the BQ2060A.

Are you able to use a scope or logic analyzer to capture the communication?

Are you using an MCU to send the commands?

I have used a logic analyser to interrogate the comms and it looks correct.

Start, h16 [ h0B | WR ], Stop //Check for device
Start, h16 [ h0B | WR ], h2F, Stop //query address 0x2F Pack Status and Pack Configuration
Start, h17 [ h0B | RD ], hA0, h20 NAK, Stop // response
Start, h16 [ h0B | WR ], h00, h06, h06, Stop // request eeprom access

The final line above indicates the command 0x0606 was sent without errors.

Following this I poll for the eeprom but it does not appear.

I am using an Arduino Mega to send the above commands.

Hello Michael,

Can you send your schematic to make sure all the connections are correct? If you successfully sent the command you should be able to program the EEPROM.
