BQ51013B: Max output current 1.5 or 1A?

Part Number: BQ51013B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25611D

Hello,

I am looking to use the BQ51013B for a Qi wireless receiver that will be used with the BQ25611D for charging our device. I want to get the most current out of the wireless receiver that I can for our charging. I notice the datasheet specification says that the output current can be set up to 1.5A. However, in other parts of the datasheet, it is saying that we can only get up to 1A of output current. Could you clarify this? If it can do 1.5A of current, is there any way to do that? The application data says it can only get to 1A.

Thanks!

Adam

  • Hello Adam

The 1.0A output current configuration is the most reliable.  This is 5W and complies with WPC 5W standard.

The 1.5A configuration has a number of challenges, thermal rise, coil design, coil alignment, transmitter compatibility and others.
