BQ25616: Can we use 1kΩ resistor for RILIM when we want to set 500mA for IINDPM?

Hi Team,

The datasheet shows the following in page 19.
---------------------------------------
Input current limit must be programmed to a value within a range of 500 mA to 3200 mA with a pull-down resistor on the ILIM pin. The input current limit is set as:
IIINDPM = KILIM/RILIM
---------------------------------------
The datasheet also shows KILIM is 478(A x Ω) typical.

Can we use 1kΩ resistor for RILIM when we want to set 500mA for IINDPM?
I would like to ask above because IINDPM is 478mA in this case.

Best Regards,
Yaita

    Yes, 478mA is good for 500mA IINDPM. Please keep in mind that IINDPM is effective only when D+/D- detects unknown adaptor. Otherwise, IINDPM is set based on USB detection. If D+/D- pins are floating, adaptor will be detected as unknown.
