UCC28704: current-sense resistor choose

Part Number: UCC28704

Hi,

I'm developing UCC28704.

Why in the section 7.3.1.5 of the datasheet the value of RCS needs to be divided by two times of IOCC? where does this 2 come from?

  • Hi  Rui Zhang35,

The equation makes the assumption that the peak secondary current is twice the average current when the UCC28704
    is in constant current mode.
Transferring this to the primary side gives you  2*Iocc/Nps as the peak primary current
The peak primary current is what sets the Rcs value.

    Regards

    John
